CheckoutProof Privacy Policy
CheckoutProof is a do-it-yourself Android app that helps you review a store receipt before you leave. It flags possible discrepancies for you to check with the retailer. It does not decide that a store broke a law and does not say you are owed a particular remedy.
What the app stores
CheckoutProof is offline-first. It does not create accounts and does not operate a CheckoutProof server for the core audit.
- Receipt and optional shelf-tag images processed on the device
- Extracted line items and corrections you type
- Saved audits on this device, which you can delete in the app
That information stays on the phone except when you choose to share it.
What we do not collect
The supplied build does not include advertising, analytics, crash reporters, or login. We do not need bank credentials, payment cards, precise location, contacts, or government ID. We do not sell personal information.
On-device text recognition
Receipt and shelf-tag photos are read on the device with a bundled Google ML Kit Latin text-recognition model. Official or retailer sites you open in a browser have their own privacy practices.
Changes
We will update this page if a later version adds accounts, a server, or any data that leaves the device without you sharing it.
